Optical Emission Spectrometer is mainly used for the analysis of iron-based, aluminum-based, copper-based, and other substrates. So what are the requirements for the sample to be tested by the optical emission spectrometer? Now let me summed up several items for everyone as below.
1. Blocky, electrically conductive, non-powder, and the internal structure cannot be loose and porous.
2. The surface of the sample must be clean, not contaminated, and must not contain other substances, nor can it be touched by hand;
3. The surface of the sample must be smooth and flat, not too small, and can cover the excitation hole well. The plane is at least 13mm. (If it is too small, it can be flattened with a stretching machine, and then expanded after testing.)
4, The thickness of the sample ≥ 4mm can not have defects such as trachoma, cracks, segregation;
Sample preparation requirements: Under normal circumstances, ferrous metals such as iron bases need to be polished by sample grinding machines or grinders; samples of non-ferrous metal substrates such as aluminum and copper require small lathes or milling, black metal substrates such as iron and nickel. The sample can be ground (the as-cast sample needs to be cut first). It is required that the surface of the sample after grinding is smooth and clean, the lines are clear, and the temperature is suitable. In addition, samples of different substrates should not be sampled on the same sandpaper.
The cast iron must be white-mouthed for analysis, and the following points should be noted when white-mouthing:
1. Do not cast too fast to avoid segregation;
2, Generally multi-purpose mold casting, sample mold as far as possible to take diameter 35-40mm, thickness 6-8mm, so that the sample cools quickly, white mouth is good, to be taken out about 30 seconds after the pouring of molten iron, boiled water and then cold water cold.
